Year 9 Netball – 10th January 2017

An update from Miss English on the Year 9 Netball Team.

“First of all, some fantastic news – our Year 9 team qualified for the Trafford League Semi Final, we came runners up in the South Trafford division and were drawn to play against the winners of the North Trafford division, Flixton.  The fact that we qualified, beating schools that qualified last year, shows just how much the girls have improved this year.

The girls played fantastically in the first half scoring from every centre pass, winning 2-1 at one point, but we ended the first half behind Flixton 4-2.  The second half continued in a similar way, we managed to level up the score to 6-4 but Flixton managed to get through our defence and score 3 goals in the final 3 minutes.  I couldn’t be more proud of the girls; they really did play incredibly well! So well in fact that the girls from Flixton couldn’t choose just one ‘Girl of the Game’ and went for both Ellie Swain and Zainab Shather!

We look forward to playing our next fixture and hopefully getting 3^rd place!”
