Year 12 Geography Residential to the Lake District
Last week the Geography department took us on an educational (but fun!) trip to assist in our understanding about how to conduct research for our NEA which we will be completing over the course of the year.
On the first day we went to Keswick to learn more about how to measure data for a Human Geography NEA, though it was raining really heavily, it was very helpful learning about demographics and the factors affecting the area.
On the second day we went to two different beaches to compare pebble size and beach gradient in contrasting places. The weather was better on this day (thankfully!).
My favourite activity were the games we played in the evenings when we were back at the centre.
I would definitely recommend geography for anyone considering it further as it gives a balanced understanding to many processes affecting the physical and natural world. Though I hope the weather will improve in the upcoming year!
