Wild Alaskan Salmon

This week we received 40 fillets of Wild Alaskan Salmon from the Fish Heroes programme organised by the Food Teachers Centre.

As part of the programme, 250 schools nationwide will be receiving a free delivery of Salmon. With the cost of living and rise in food prices, this is a very generous offer and Wellington School have been lucky enough to be one of the schools selected to participate.

The programme is designed to encourage pupils to cook with fish more and to try dishes they may not have tried before. It also encourages pupils to try food which they may previously have not been a fan of.

Year 10 pupils have already been learning about the seafood industry by following modules through the Seafood University: https://alaskaseafooduniversity.co.uk/login/ – which you too can access should you wish to find out more.

We are very excited and are looking forward to producing a range of dishes over the next few weeks.
