The U13 hockey girls represented Greater Manchester in the North West tournament on Tuesday in glorious sunshine.

We played 4 pool stage games winning 1, drawing 2 and losing 1. We faced Sedbergh, Kirkham Grammar, Kings Chester and Merchant Taylors-all are either private or selective schools. Unfortunately we didn’t make it into the semi final but instead a 5th/6th place playoff against Kings Macclesfield, which we won 1-0. All those who played were a fantastic representation of our school; showing determination, courage and excellence throughout. We always do a players player vote at the end of every event. Emma Blackburn received this accolade from her peers, and not for the first time this year. Well done to everyone who took part, including Orla who couldn’t make the finals due to injury.
