Year 9 students of German have been learning about Reunification Day (3^rd October) this week and finding out what the Berlin Wall was all about: why it was put up and why it came down. They have been looking at some pictures of Berlin pre-1989 vs modern-day and considering what it meant for the East- and West-German people (Ossis und Wessis!) at the time, and reflecting on how important unity is today. All agreed that Frau Ramsumair must be very old if she could remember an event in the 1980s!
