We have some fantastic news to share from our English department! Earlier this year, Year 9 took part in the prestigious Portico Library competition, and two of our students have proven themselves to be top-tier writers.

Evie-Rae took home the main Key Stage 3 prize for Best Short Story. Her gripping story, ‘Unholy’, was even read out loud at the official awards ceremony last week where she collected her prizes. Alongside her success, Jacob Wilkins earned a Special Commendation for his brilliant book review.

Winning a Portico award is a massive achievement that only a select few across the region manage to secure. A massive well done to Evie-Rae and Jacob—you are absolute superstars!
