Oxford University Computing Challenge

In January, approximately 50 students from Wellington qualified for the Oxford University Computing Challenge by coming in the top 10% in the country in another competition. The OUCC tests students in programming skills that go beyond the normal curriculum for their age group. Everybody who took part did very well, but Lewis Goodwin (Year 7, pictured), Luke Taylor and Edward Davies (both Year 11) did exceptionally, scoring in the top 10% nationally. I hope the OUCC inspires students to continue to learn to code. All qualifiers can take part again next year and there will be another opportunity to qualify in November. Example tasks are available to use without logging in at www.bebras.uk.
