October is Black History Month
To build on our studies of black History at KS3, we asked all pupils to complete a piece of research homework to learn about a lesser-known figure of Black British History. All pupils were then asked write and perform a speech covering the impact of their individual. In addition, all pupils took part in a discussion during tutor time around this year’s theme: Time for Change: Action Not Words. Black History Month is celebrated as for centuries Black History has been hidden, ignored or even rewritten. So many excellent speeches were written and performed!
