Back in December Wellington marked UN International Human Rights Day in collaboration with the charity RFK Human Rights. A group of Year 10 pupils passionate about defending and promoting the importance of human rights produced a presentation which was delivered to all pupils in tutor time. They also launched and ran a competition for pupils to mark Human Rights Day by encouraging them to produce informative handouts on where human rights have been wrongly denied and what should be done to tackle this issue. Winners were selected after Christmas and have now been collated onto a display board in the Gloucester building. The pupils received a certificate on behalf of RFK Human Rights and were rightly proud to be recognised for their efforts in promoting the importance of human rights across the school as you can see below.
