We had a fantastic day out yesterday at the Sale Harriers open competition hosted at Sportcity.

The Year 8/9 pupils competed against 14 other schools from across Greater Manchester in a range of indoor athletics events; 60M, 200M, 800M and high jump to name a few. Both Girls & Boys team performed brilliantly, with some coming away with medals!!.. Clara Edwards gold in 200M, Katie Robertson silver in 800M, Freya Laffly gold in 60M and the girls relay team won gold!! Oli Ernill ran a great 300M race coming 1^st in his heat. The boys relay team were amazing just missing out on a medal. The athletes demonstrated our school values spectacularly and were fantastic ambassadors of Wellington School.

I am SO pleased to say that the overall results saw the Girls team come away with the TROPHY making them Greater Manchester athletics CHAMPIONS!!!!

I am so proud of you all! Well done!
