Congratulations to the U13 Dodgeball teams who competed in the Regional Championships at Eccles Sixth Form College on Tuesday.  

 

The A team gave us a scare to start the day with a loss to Trinity Boys but then went onto dominate the group with 10-0 victories over Rainford, Wright Robinson, Cowley and Little Lever, to finish the group stages in top spot.  The B team beat Trinity Girls, Cowley and Little Lever, drew with Wellacre and lost to Rainford.  This meant a second-place finish in the group, resulting in a Wellington A v Wellington B semi-final!

 

The A team came out on top in the semi, going into the final against Rainford, with the B team heading for the 3rd/4^th place play-off game against Trinity Boys.  The 3/4^th place play-off went to a deciding set with the B team keeping their composure to beat Trinity Boys and take home the bronze medals.

 

The A team played a strong game in the final and beat Rainford 6-0 to take the gold medals, the trophy and a place in the National Finals.

 

None of this would have been possible without the Bailey family.  Mikey (Year 9) coached the B team magnificently during the day, with support from Mrs Bailey and Mr Bailey coached the A team to the title.  The teams have been training since September for this event and represented the school brilliantly.
