Cambridge University Visit

On Tuesday 12th July, seven of our Year 12’s linked with 15 students from Cheadle High School to attend a two-day residential at Cambridge University.  We arrived in time for lunch and spent the afternoon listening to talks and participating in workshops about University admissions, writing a personal statement and an overview of University life.  The Cambridge college hosting the event was Murray Edwards and over the course of the two days, we really got a sense of what it would be like to live in University accommodation and attend seminars: two very interesting sessions were run and delivered by leading academics in the fields of public health and climate repair.

There was also an evening walk around the university buildings of central Cambridge and a tour of Pembroke College on the Wednesday.

Being such a ‘flying’ visit, this was very much a ‘taster’ of what University life entails.  A great trip which will hopefully be repeated next year.
