We were delighted to once again welcome Nazeema from Young Identity to lead a poetry workshop with some of our Year 8 pupils. We were also joined by students from Altrincham College and Altrincham Girls’ Grammar School, making it a fantastic collaborative event.

After enjoying snacks of waffles and hot chocolate, everyone got down to some serious poetry writing inspired by the themes of change, belonging, and resilience — the key ideas explored in the books on the Trafford Book Awards shortlist. It was also lovely to see new friendships blossoming around the writing tables as pupils shared ideas and encouraged one another.

We can’t wait to see which title takes the prize when the results are announced in March next year!
