Year 11 GCSE Religious Education and Philosophy (REP)

On Thursday afternoon, our Year 11 GCSE Religious Education and Philosophy (REP) Full Course students welcomed a special guest, Father Steve, the vicar of Timperley.

Father Steve was met with a flurry of thought-provoking questions, which he tackled with honesty, humility and insight. Students engaged him in a wide-ranging discussion, covering challenging topics such as philosophy (“Why would an all-loving, all-powerful God allow suffering?”), ethics (“Should Charlie Kirk’s killer face the death penalty?”), and faith (“Are you 100% certain in your beliefs?”). They also explored both global issues like Gaza and more local concerns, including protests at Cresta Court.

A huge thank you to Father Steve for generously sharing his time and perspectives, and for handling some very complex and controversial questions with such openness and respect.
