International Women in Engineering Day
A big congratulations to all of the students that took part in the “Egg-Drop Challenge” to celebrate International Women in Engineering Day.
Students worked in teams to create a structure protecting their precious egg from impact using only four sheets of paper and some glue. The ingenuity of those involved was really impressive – we had a wide range of designs, including parachutes and origami boxes! It was a very intense finale – with and a fair amount of egg on the floor from those that didn’t quite make it (sorry, Mr Hodson). It ended in an impressive five-way tie with the winning teams consisting of: Hailey Chan (7PCL), Ruby Fox (7RGN), Niamh Thomas (7RGN), Jasmine Hallett (9JBN), Athena Tse (9JBN), Ava Cockayne (9RJN), Charisse Ng (9JBN), Chloe Yuen (9JBN), Justin Yip (9RJN), Jovie Ho (9CSN), Kylie Leung (9JBN) and Abby Tsang (9RCN).
Thank you to tutors for taking part in the Inter-Form Quiz – I had a record number of responses. Well done to the winning tutor groups: 7EDO, 8LBS, 9CSN, 9SHG and HDS!
