On Tuesday 11th June, Talk the Talk came and ran an Oracy workshop with a group of Year 9 pupils to help them prepare for their GCSE English Language Spoken Language presentations later this half-term.

Pupils were asked to recognise and articulate their nerves about presenting to others: some admitted they felt out of their comfort zone, some stated they absolutely couldn’t speak in front of others EVER! But lo and behold, within hours everyone completed Oracy activities and presentations within the group, unanimously feeling they had improved their presentation skills and confidence.

The pupils were exceptional and all received certificates, with special mention for some by Lisa and Lee, the facilitators, who decided on their Oracy Champions: Freddy Horsefield, Olivia So, James Woodiwiss, Charlie Coyle and Elsie So.

Well done Year 9 and I wish you success in your presentations!
