Year 9 Pupils Attend Model United Nations at the University of Liverpool

On Monday 23rd February, a group of our Year 9 pupils attended an exciting Model United Nations event at the University of Liverpool.

The day began with fascinating talks on the diplomacy of Ancient Egypt, followed by an insightful discussion about the role and function of the United Nations. The sessions were highly academic in nature, and we were extremely proud of how attentively our pupils listened and how thoughtfully they engaged with the material.

Pupils then took part in the Model UN simulation itself. Each pupil was assigned a country and tasked with formulating a response to a fictional global crisis — a zombie apocalypse! This creative and challenging scenario encouraged critical thinking, collaboration and persuasive debate. Pupils demonstrated impressive negotiation skills, engaged in lively and sometimes heated discussions, and showed great confidence in representing their assigned nations.

The day concluded with a reflection on the power of languages and their vital role in diplomacy, both historically and in shaping the future.

Well done to all pupils involved for representing the school with such maturity, enthusiasm and professionalism. We are incredibly proud of you.
