World Book Day 2026 – What a Busy Day!
A very busy World Book Day this year – perfectly appropriate as it is also the National Year of Reading.
We had the usual cake sale, with some brilliant book-themed creations from Ayla and Adrika – well done! There were Masked Reader quizzes in lessons and students enjoyed designing their own book tokens too.
The teachers clearly had just as much fun dressing up! A special shout-out to the Maths Department – Mr Hodson was a dead ringer for Dick Van Dyke, and Mrs Lewis made a fantastic Mary Poppins.
Mr Brown may have been a little uncomfortable hopping around in his cocoon (sleeping bag!), but Mr Harrison did transform into a beautiful butterfly by the end of the day!
Finally, well done to Jess and Isla, our other competition winners.
A wonderful day celebrating reading – thank you to everyone who took part!
Ms Gilbert
