Welly World Mental Health Day October 10th 2025
From all of us at Wellington School, we just wanted to say a huge thank you for supporting our YoungMinds #HelloYellow day held on 10th October 2025 for World Mental Health Day.
More young people than ever before are seeking out mental health support and most aren’t getting the help they need. The past year saw the highest number of referrals to mental health support services for young people since records began. We wanted to do something about this, and together we have.
By joining thousands of schools, offices and communities across the UK in wearing yellow, we have done a little thing to make a BIG difference to young people’s mental health. The total amount we raised will be announced next week.
With three children in every classroom living with a mental health problem, YoungMinds is leading the fight to see a future where all young people can get the mental health support they need, when they need it, no matter what.
We have supported this charity since 2022. You have joined thousands of others in saying #HelloYellow by donning your brightest outfits, costumes, and accessories. You raised vital funds for YoungMinds, and most importantly, showed young people that how they feel matters.
Here’s a summary of some of the ways your donations have helped the charity to provide life-changing support for young people and the loved ones who care for them…
Since #HelloYellow 2022:
- Our Parents Helpline have answered 4465 calls.
- 1293 adults have received a call back from one of our professional advisers.
- We’ve answered over 2225 web chats, providing adults support and signposting for the young people in their life.
- We launched a new range of advice and guides speaking to the experience of young Muslims across the UK.
- We’re supporting a number of schools with a newly developed whole-school approach to tackling anxiety.
- We’ve recruited a new team of youth advisers, who act as paid advisers on key projects within YoungMinds.
We couldn’t have done it without you 🙌. Thank you for all your efforts, wearing yellow, donating to the cause, making/buying cakes for our bake sale and for always being there to help others 😊
Thank you so much for your support.
