The team of Ruby Wang and Leyla Shi, really came into their own, putting forward a passionate case for Animal Research, opposing the motion that we should ban all forms of it. It was always a difficult motion to argue for, and Saleha Hashemi did put forward a strong case; however, there was no way to get past all the good consequences of Animal Testing that Ruby and Leyla put forward, showing how Animal Testing creates more good than harm, and that a world without it would be a lot worse, a world in which survival rates would be far lower. A great debate. Next week we’ll be debating whether we should legalise assisted dying.
