Visit from The Fed’s My Voice Project
The History Department would like to thank Raphi Bloom from The Fed’s My Voice project for visiting our Year 9 pupils today. Raphi delivered a truly insightful and engaging talk about the life of his good friend and Holocaust survivor Ike Alterman, a man very close to our hearts at Wellington.
Raphi’s presentation was both informative and thought-provoking, offering a unique perspective that enriched our pupils’ understanding of the Holocaust. We greatly appreciate him taking the time out of his busy schedule to keep Ike’s story alive by sharing it with us. Raphi even had time to answer some very thoughtful questions from our pupils too.
Such visits are invaluable in bringing history to life and inspiring our students. History can’t just be learned from textbooks and stories like Ike’s are an invaluable resource to remind us of the importance of remembrance, tolerance, and standing up against hatred and injustice.
Thank you, Raphi and also Ike, for a memorable and educational experience.
