Project in A Day: Year 7

On Friday, Year 7 completed one of fifteen projects hosted by a multitude of staff in our biggest Project in a Day yet!
From Create your own Board Game, to Make Your Own Music Video, to a performance of The Lion King, and of course a Cardboard Crowd puppetry masterclass, the pupils couldn’t have asked for more to choose from!
There were a number of projects linked to Wellbeing and Mindfulness too: especially in the creative arts through the Identity Mandala project and Paint Like Frida. Our popular Dungeons and Dragons club was also represented too and ‘Be a Filmmaker’ allowed pupils to film a behind-the-scenes documentary all about Show in the Day and work towards the Arts Award! Culturally, a number of pupils were involved in learning more about Dia de los Muertos!
We went BIG this year and challenged ourselves by asking pupils to suggest ideas for new projects and see if the staff could make them happen! And indeed, they were not disappointed: we had rocket-making in Mission Sky-High, party planning for Party Time, a Photography Scavenger Hunt, a Treasure Hunt, and of course, a re-enactment of The Battle of Hastings!
And to top it all off, the Mystery Sport project was revealed: Kin Ball! Basically, take a giant ball, learn how to control it as a team and bat it towards the goal! What a great sport!
The pupils were exceptional and I can’t thank the staff involved enough!  Thanks also to Eve and Grace from ArtsMark who came to see the School’s Arts culture.

Well done Year 7!
