Children’s Mental Health Week – 5th – 9th February 2024

Well, what a fabulous week this has been. Students had a tutor takeover assembly focussed around mental health from Place2Be and have hopefully listened to the presentation from Kooth sent out via Classcharts.

Staff have hosted numerous lunchtime activities promoting wellbeing from mindfulness colouring, crafting and meditation, to board games and a natter and gardening.  In addition, numerous subjects have embraced the mental health and wellbeing theme in their lessons.  Whilst on this, please note the amazing Art work produced by the students in the Hive (see pics below), I’m sure you’ll agree art work that will most certainly spread joy for years to come.  In fact, lots of fun has been had, gaming, baking and self care activities- smiles all round 😊.

It has been a lovely week to end a busy half term, a huge thank you to all staff and students involved.

All students now have a Welly Wellbeing Pocket book designed by our Wellbeing Leaders in school, there is lots of information in there; where to get help in school, where to get help in the community, how to help others and activities to help with self care. You should also have received the NHS Trafford THRIVE Newsletter which is full of information about Mental health.

Finally, what a super exciting opportunity our students have been invited to partake in.  I hope some of you are enrolling with The SoMe project being carried out by the University of Manchester (please see my Classchart announcement about this).  How good is it to be involved with research that can not only improve your mental health but help to educate others 😊.

In the meantime, have an AMAZING half term, oh and please don’t forget to complete the ‘your voice matters’ survey 😊.
