Chemistry in Action – 14th November 2025

18 students attended a series of lectures from a range of speakers on cutting edge Chemistry in central Manchester. Students were particularly captivated by Dr Tim Gregory talking on Nuclear Chemistry and numerous employment and apprenticeship opportunities in this industry, as well as it being a viable solution to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

Other exciting themes covered were nuclear medicine to target cancer on a cellular level, the role of Chemistry in combatting antibiotic resistance, the Chemistry of smells and the chemistry of poisons. Thank you to Mr Crabbe for organising this fantastic event!
