Last summer, Mr Crooks asked if I had any books to donate to schools in Ghana that are supported by the Marinel Foundation, an incredible charity run by a friend of his. It was such a worthy cause, we decided to reach out to our wider school community—and the response was nothing short of overwhelming.

Box after box of high-quality books poured in, donated by pupils, staff, and parents alike. At one point, I may have slightly taken over the whole delivery bay (sorry!), with every spare corner of space used for storage. But it was completely worth it.

Recently, we received photos and messages from the schools in Ghana—and it was fabulous to see our donated books in the hands of pupils, being read and enjoyed all those miles away! I hope they bring as much joy and inspiration to those pupils as they did to ours here at Wellington.
