Childrens Mental Health Week

The theme for Children’s Mental Health Week 2026 is ‘This is My Place’.  Belonging is a core principle everybody in our Wellington Community holds in high regard.  Students have had 2 tutor takeovers this week.  One was produced by our wellbeing leaders and they have set tutor groups the challenge to come up with ideas of how they can develop a sense of belonging within their form groups and form space.  Ideas so far have included- chats over a monthly form breakfasts to suggesting the organisation of a year book for year 11. To help raise money for these ideas students hosted a cake sale and have donated in exchange for their ‘Come as yourself’  non-uniform day.  The second tutor takeover was from Kooth; reminding students about their support platform and how to access it over the break.  In addition  there has been the usual plethora of lunchtime activities to encourage that sense of belonging and students have engaged in other activities too e.g. posting comments of affirmation in secret places for other students to find, group bonding over a feel good film with snacks and there was even a visit from their little friend Portia (see pcitures).

Thank you to everybody who donated, I will update you about the amount raised at a later date.  Happy half term 😊
