Year 8 Dragons Den – 10.07.17
Mrs Mackay with more careers news:
“On Monday 10th July, all Year 8 pupils took part in a Dragon’s Den activity to nurture their enterprise and entrepreneurial skills. A great day was had by all.
The event enabled the students to work in teams within their tutor groups devising their own business plans, advertisements, budgets and finally their sales pitches. They were expertly guided by their tutors and an employer, who acted as the dragon during the preliminary phase. The morning culminated in one team from each tutor group being selected as having the best pitch, to go through to the final round in the afternoon.
The final was delivered to a wider audience, the entire Year group and the team of dragons, very daunting indeed for Year 8 pupils. All students demonstrated excellent promise and confidence. The winning team was ‘Ghobi Deliveries’ from 8ARI and they were rewarded with a free breakfast in the school dining hall. The employers were extremely impressed by the quality and delivery of the presentations and thought that our pupils were a real delight to work with.
We would like to say a huge ‘Thank You’ to the employers for giving their time so freely and for providing our pupils with the opportunity of working with them.”
