Year 7 and 8 Netball

Miss Kelly with this:

“On Tuesday, the Year 7 and 8 A team netballers played their last game with Mrs Warburton on the sideline.  Mrs Warburton, who is leaving school, has coached the Year 8 girls’ netball team this year and has also been part of many training sessions with the Year 7 girls.

The Year 7 and 8 girls, despite playing each other very regularly, take it very seriously and always put on a fantastic performance.  Strong competition saw both teams stay level to begin, scoring goal for goal.

The Year 7 and 8 shooters; Natalie Tranter, Sophie Neary and Year 8’s Grace Edmundson and Daisy Coombs rarely missed a shot, putting a lot of pressure on the oppositions defence.

The Year 8’s began to take the lead as their strong and tall defence, led by Bronte Neary, made it difficult for the Year 7s to bring the ball down the court.  Despite numerous interceptions and speed from mid-court players Sophia Brocklehurst, Nancy Pickles, Hannah Simms and Ellen Welby, the Year 8’s got ahead and managed to secure a 10-7 win.

A great way to finish Mrs Warburton’s final netball training session!”
