Year 12 Physics Trip – 07.03.18

“On Wednesday, 10 Year 12’s went to the Particle Physics Masterclass at Daresbury Laboratory. During the course of the day they heard two different lectures on Particle Accelerators and attended 4 sessions based on Particle Accelerators, including a guided tour of Daresbury’s own Particle Accelerator CLARA. A highlight was hearing from Prof. Frederik Loebinger, an expert in the field of Accelerator Physics, who has worked on the ATLAS experiment which lead to the discovery of the Higgs Boson!”
