“Our defence of our Trafford Cup continued this week with a quarter final tie against Broadoak, a team who we had defeated 8-1 in the league this season. I warned the boys about complacency and a lack of work ethic prior to the game and, above all, be clinical. We got two out of the three, the boys weren’t complacent and played some lovely football and all worked hard for each other, but we were far from clinical. Our team stats must have read 25 shots, 10 on target and 4 goals – Broadoak’s were 3 shots, 3 on target, 2 goals. A closer score line than the game suggested really. A win and onto the semi- final – Cameron Davenport, Harvey lees and Josh Adams were outstanding.”
