Simply Cycling PE Trip

“On Wednesday, Mr Morgan and I took the year 12 PE A Level students to Wythenshawe Park to visit the Simply Cycling initiative as part of our social differentiation topic” writes Miss Challinor. “Students have been learning about the different barriers to participation and the ways in which these are being broken down.

At the park we met Sue who runs the initiative. She showed us a variety of different bikes and talked about the ways they have been adapted to fit the needs of all the people who go to there to cycle. She told us about the history of the initiative and the different types of users there are. The students were then able to have a go on the bikes to see the different ways that members of the pubic cycle.

The students were outstanding representatives of the school and hopefully they will be able to discuss the simply cycling initiative in future exams.”
