School Sports Games Gold Mark
“I am pleased to announce that this year, we have received the Gold Mark from the School Sports Games for the 3rd year in a row!” writes Miss Challinor.
“The sports mark is a campaign run through Sainsbury’s and the Youth Sport Trust to try and encourage schools to get more young people active in sport, through participation and leadership. This year, the PE department and staff from around the school have taken on extra clubs to try and help young people get more involved, and the numbers speak for themselves!
We have had a massive 88% of Year 7-11 pupils taking part in extra-curricular activities and competitions, including badminton club, gymnastics, cheer, football and netball. Of these students, 82% did this purely for enjoyment and to improve their health and wellbeing! We have also encouraged all our students to take part in leadership roles through lessons and extra-curricular clubs, with a massive 62% of our year 7-11 pupils getting involved in leading activities.
We have had a hugely successful year and would like to thank everyone involved, including Natasha from LCCCF, Katy from KTFC Fitness, Timperley Hockey Club and Trafford Netball to name just a few.
Well done to all the students who have come along to different clubs, we hope to see you at them again next year.”
