“Students proudly stood in the spotlight to perform a wealth of sketches, songs and monologues for the first Oscars showcase last night” writes Mrs Simpson.
“‘Annie the Musical’, ‘The History Boys’ and ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ were among some of the theatrical delights brought to life by the young performers in the elite Oscars group on Thursday. Each of the students had to audition for one of the prestigious places back in October and, since then, have been working hard to refine their performance skills; not just in acting but dance and song too – a ‘triple threat!’
And as a special one- off performance the team, led by Miss Spencer and I, pulled off a phenomenal performance attended by many friends and family members.
Miss Spencer and I are so proud of all of them, they have worked fantastically hard- giving up time after school and at lunch to work on this. They truly are a fantastic bunch of very talented young people.
It was especially delightful to see Mrs Hamlin on the evening too as this great venture was started by her in 2017 and has been a great success ever since.”
