Numeracy Ninjas

Miss Latham with this Maths Department news:

“Year 8 students complete a weekly 5 minute skills test which includes: 10 questions on mental numeracy calculation strategies, 10 times tables questions and 10 questions on key topics that must be mastered before studying GCSE Maths. Students record their Ninja Score out of 30 and this corresponds to a particular colour Ninja Belt. The idea that is that each student competes against themselves each week to improve or maintain their previous belt.

Only a Ninja Score of 30 will earn students the coveted Black Ninja Belt! Students who routinely score 30 are awarded Grand Master status. I thought I would update you with our list of black belts so far this year…
