National Nursery Rhyme Week
Miss Sheehan with this Year 7 news:
“Last week, Year 7 were set the challenge of updating a nursery rhyme for National Nursery Rhyme Week. Each tutor group was given the choice to decide which nursery rhyme they would modernise: Wind the Bobbin up; Hickory Dickory Dock or Old King Cole. They could change the lyrics, choreograph a dance routine, or perform a drama sketch – the possibilities were endless! With much rehearsing and practising, on Monday, Year 7 were ready to perform! With props and instruments and rap battles and even dancing glow sticks, the Year 7s and the Vale Hall were all in high spirits! Mrs Sheehan’s tutor group started off proceedings with a dance and rap to Wind the Bobbin Up followed by Mr Cawley’s drama sketch of Wellington’s Got Talent for Old King Cole. Miss Crump’s guitarist played beautifully whilst Mr Higginson’s rap battle certainly got all of us off to a lively start on a dull and rainy Monday morning.
Well done to all of Year 7 who played a part in the challenge and who performed!”
