Maths Trips

“Two fantastic trips were organised by the Maths department this week”, writes Mrs Fairbairn. “On Monday a team of our Year 8 and 9 students took part in the United Kingdom Mathematical Trust Team Challenge held at Manchester Grammar School.  The questions were tough but we rose to the challenge and outperformed all our scores from previous years.  Well done to the Wellington team. 

Wednesday was the turn of our Year 10’s.  Eight enthusiastic mathematicians went to Manchester University and took part in a Mathematical Feast of challenges organised by the Further Maths Support Programme.   It was a very intense day with lots of timed activities that required careful delegation of the tasks to ensure the greatest number of questions could be answered.  All pupils had a great time.”
