Maths Stars of the Week
This week the Mathematics department are celebrating the following Stars of the Week.
Mrs Golden awards Felix Hoxley in Year 8. She comments “Well done Felix for your tremendous result in your end of term assessment. You have worked hard all year and your effort and focus has paid off. Keep up the good work.”
Mrs Golden also awards Josh Porter, Cora Bowers and Clark Smith in Year 11. She comments that the students seem to be going from strength to strength regarding improved commitment and effort in the run-up to their exams. Keep on blasting those past papers. You are nearly there!
Mr Fellowes awards Harry Whitehurst in Year 7 and Alex Wetton in Year 9. During a Maths game, Harry worked out the solution to a very tricky question that nobody else managed to find. On top of this, Harry shows a real determination to challenge himself each and every lesson.
Alex has really been pushing himself in Maths these past few weeks and it is definitely having a positive impact. Each lesson, Alex is focused on the work and asks great questions to challenge his knowledge. I’m very pleased with the direction that Alex is going. Well done boys!
Mrs Mackay awards Josh Lynch in Year 10. Josh is an extremely capable mathematician, who achieved 94% in the April assessment. He enjoys challenges set and is able to apply concepts to written problems successfully. Well done Josh!
Miss Cradick awards Meerab Ahmed in Year 7. Meerab is an incredibly hardworking and conscientious student. She has really excelled herself this week, coming top in the rounding and estimating challenge. Keep up the good work Meerab, you’re a star!
Mrs Smith’s star of the week goes to Isabelle Jennings in Year 7. This is for her consistent effort in Maths. Isabelle is a conscientious student that tries hard in every lesson also completing homework to an excellent standard. Well done for your hard work and commitment to learning Isabelle!
