Maths Stars of the Week
Mrs Heaton is celebrating the following successes in Mathematics department this week.
Mrs Golden’s Stars of the Week are all from Year 10; Brandon Lane, Laura Rundle, Ruby Shaw and Deeba Rahman. Mrs Golden comments that in order to overcome gaps in their knowledge the students have completed extra work at home and have bought evidence of their work into school to show her. Well done guys and keep up the good work?
Mrs Smith awards her Star of the week to Lucy Smith in Year 9 for her excellent attainment this term. Lucy has done super work in class and at home to enhance her knowledge in Maths and this has really shown in her end of half term results. Lucy is a keen Mathematician and enthusiastic to do her best in every lesson. Well done Lucy and keep up the great work!
Mr Fellowes would like to nominate Ruben Varela also in Year 9 for his Star of the Week. Ruben constantly pushes and challenges himself with any Maths task that is given to him. He is particularly impressed with his current effort with Pythagoras and his recall of Maths knowledge from previous lessons. Keep up the great work Ruben!
Mrs Lewis would like to nominate Joe Ball in Year 11. He is really starting to take his Maths GCSE more seriously as the second mock approaches. He is coming to revision classes after school, completing target booklets at home and giving some great answers in class. Here’s hoping that will translate into a great mock result. Good luck Joe!
And finally, I am delighted to award Callum Marsland in Year 8 for my Star of the Week award. Callum made an excellent contribution to our discussion or Reverse Percentage Problems. This is a particularly tricky problem to overcome and I am overwhelmed by the depth of understanding you have demonstrated. Well done Callum!
