Fairtrade Fortnight 27.02.17 – 12.03.17
Fairtrade fortnight 27th February – 12th March 2017
Miss Ryan with an update:
“Fairtrade fortnight is an annual campaign which aims to increase awareness of Fairtrade products.
At Wellington school the Technology department organised a Fairtrade quiz and tasting session. On Thursday 9th March pupils were invited to come to the Food Technology room to find out more about Fairtrade.
Around the room there was lots of information displayed about what Fairtrade is and how it works. Pupils read the information and did a quiz. The winner received a pack of Fairtrade goodies which included bars of chocolate, drinking chocolate and some tea bags.
Pupils also had the opportunity to sample some Fairtrade items and were able to see that they are not always that expensive – as shown by the fact that Cadbury’s Dairy Milk bars are Fairtrade products and still cost the same as most standard chocolate bars.
The winner of the hamper was James Wynne in 7MBH. Well done James.”
