Big Bang Fair Science Trip 15.03.17
Miss Tyrer and the Science/Tech team with this trip report:
“On Wednesday 15th March, 85 Year 9 and 10 pupils visited the Big Bang Fair at Birmingham NEC centre as part of the celebration of British Science week. During this week, many events take place promoting the pursuit of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) subjects and the Big Bang fair is one of the biggest.
Pupils were able to see many different career paths using STEM subjects, including the RAF, BAE, Jeep, JCB to name just a few. There was a huge amount of interactive Science stalls for pupils to experiment with, as well as some live Science shows throughout the day. One of our Year 9 pupils – Oliver Mann – entered a competition flying a drone, and managed to win his very own drone by scoring an unbeatable 800 points!
A huge amount of learning and enjoyment was had by all throughout the day, and as always, Wellington pupils made us proud with their exemplary behaviour and conduct during the day. Well done everyone!”
