Awards Evening 2017 – 19.09.17

Mrs Moorhouse writes:

“I would like to say a huge thank you to all the students who participated in the Awards Evening at the Bridgewater Hall on Tuesday evening. It was absolutely amazing. Each and every ensemble gave the best performance of the last 2 weeks. They have worked extremely hard for those 2 weeks and Mr Horne and myself are extremely proud of all of you.

It was a bittersweet moment for Joseph Cardoza 13KKY as it was his last performance at an Awards Evening, and his performance of ‘Anthem’ from the musical Chess, accompanied by Sing, was a fitting tribute to Joseph’s commitment and dedication to the musical life of Wellington School.

Special mentions must go to two of our students who have gone even further above and beyond any expectation we have at Wellington School. In January 2017, two Year 9 students asked if they could help out with Sing with 7s for their Duke of Edinburgh volunteering. Nine months later they are both leading and accompanying the ensemble on the stage of the Bridgewater Hall. Thank you Lucy Allan and Eleanor Marsh. They are both looking forward to meeting the new Sing with 7s in their first rehearsal on Friday 29th September and after Tuesday’s performance I’m expecting all 250 of you in Room 18!

If anyone is on Facebook, thank you for the shares, likes and very kind messages and thank you to Timperley News for sharing our performances with the local community.
