Anti-Bullying Ambassador Training and Mental Health Training
Over 100 students from Year 7-12 volunteered to become either an Anti-Bullying Ambassador or Mental Health Ambassador, indeed many wanted to be both!
Mrs Copeland was delighted with the response and carried out training for both roles on Wednesday.
“The students were amazing, they are a credit to the School and to their parents. Community is one of Wellington’s values and I was thrilled that so many young people want to contribute to the Wellington community in such an important way.
1 in 10 of our young people will suffer a mental health issue at any one time and bullying effects over one million young people in the UK each year, hence the importance of raising awareness of both issues.
All Ambassadors will take on their role from September and will be a point of contact and support to all the students at Wellington School, especially where a young person would prefer to speak to another young person as opposed to an adult.
Well done to you all!”
