Year 7 Basketball

On Tuesday, Mr Tomlinson took 15 Year 7 students to Ashton On Mersey to play basketball. He writes:

“We decided to do 3 games of basketball cross court to enable all students to have enough game time and enjoy playing. We split our teams equally and put those students who have played more basketball this year with other players who were on debut.

Team 1 that was Ed Warriner, Harry Cotton, Toby Ward, Isaac Darling and Jamie Coon won their match 40 points to 20 – all the lads reported that they shared responsibility in everything and that it was a real team effort in defence and attack.

Team 2 who were Henry Ayles, Logan Bower, Maddex Patel, Stephen Griffin and Josh Finan won their match 48 points to 6 with Maddex and Stephen playing particularly well alongside the steady Henry and Logan. Josh did really well on debut and defended strongly.

Team 3 were Lewis Neli, Henry Shaw, Alex McKee, Kyle Gellatly and Sam Davies and won their game 58-6 with all lads reporting that they moved the ball better, defended as a team but should maybe have scored more baskets.
